What fits

  • Narrative poetry with a clear atmosphere or recurring image system.
  • Literary horror and strange fiction built around character, place, and restraint.
  • Chapbooks, novellas, and hybrid projects that suit a focused small-press edition.
  • Work that feels precise, durable, and comfortable with a little unease.

What does not fit

  • Unfinished drafts without a clear project shape.
  • High-volume genre series, screenplay pitches, or unrelated commercial proposals.
  • Projects looking for rush publication or guaranteed placement.
  • Material that depends on shock value without craft, voice, or emotional stakes.

What to prepare

  • A short project description of 300 words or less.
  • A brief author note with relevant publication history if available.
  • A sample of 10 to 20 pages pasted or linked in a simple format.
  • A clear note about whether the project is complete, in revision, or still developing.
  • Contact information and any timing details the press should know.

Editorial Review

If the project seems aligned with the list, the press may ask for more pages, a full manuscript, or a conversation about fit.

Next Steps

Selected projects move slowly and deliberately, with attention to edition shape, positioning, and long-term care.

Before sending work

Read the catalog first.

The strongest submissions usually understand the press tone: intimate, atmospheric, carefully shaped, and a little uneasy.
